Barbados is an island country in the Atlantic about 300 miles north of Venezuela. Barbados is only 34 km long and 23 km across. It is surrounded by fine beaches and slender coastal plains. The island has an approximate population of 284,589 people and with roughly 80,000 living in or around Bridgetown, the biggest city and also the country’s capital.

The weather in Barbados is mainly sunny and reasonable with warm days, breezy winds and comfy nights. It rains for the most part of summer but more often than not it’s followed by sunny skies and everything dries up within minutes. Barbados is known to take pleasure in 3,000 hours of sunlight annually thus making almost any month of the year a good time for tourists to visit.

The language that is mainly spoken in Barbados is English but the Bajan dialect often appears like a language all of its own. Bajan is a blend of broken English with an accent inspired by several African languages.

Since 1935, the Barbadian Dollar has been the certified currency of Barbados. Barbados has a well-built economy and a reasonably towering standard of living. This country is known for being the 51st richest country in the world.

Animal Flower Cave is one of the best tourist attractions in Barbados and it is located north of the island. This large cave has many chambers and natural pools, and many have acknowledged that this is an ideal place to have a wedding.
The Barbados wildlife reserve is the also an ideal place to visit. Tourist and especially their kids can enjoy watching the Barbados Green Monkeys and other animals in island’s natural environment.
