Brazil is the largest country in South America with a total area of 8,514,876.599 square kilometres. It has a population of over 190 million inhabitants and it is also renowned as the fifth largest country in the whole world. The capital city is Brasilia; a beautiful city with an estimated population of 2,557,000 and the 4th biggest city in Brazil.

Brazil is generally an all-year-round destination for tourists to visit. Being a very large country, the weather of Brazil is divided into 5 regional climatic zones: subtropical, tropical, highland tropical, equatorial, and semi-arid. Sao Paulo and Brasilia has an average temperature of 66°F. Rio de Janeiro however has warmer climates with an average temperature of 80°F but in the height of summer, it can be scorching hot with a temperature of over 100°F.

Brazil’s official language is Portuguese which is spoken by 99% of the inhabitants. The other languages are consisting of native languages, and languages of more recent European and Asian immigrants.

Brazil’s official currency is the Brazilian Real. This current real was introduced in 1994 as part of the Plano Real, a substantial financial improvement package that was meant to put an end to the three decades of uncontrolled inflation. Brazil’s economy is the world’s 7th largest by means of GDP or Gross domestic product.

Brazil is quite famous for having Christ the Redeemer. This is a gigantic statue of Jesus Christ that is located in Rio de Janeiro and is now a part of the new Seven Wonders of the World. The statue is over 120 feet tall and has a weight of 635 tons.
The astonishing Copacabana Beach is what enters tourist’s minds when they wanted to visit Brazil. Like Christ the Redeemer, the beach can also be found in Rio de Janeiro. Because of its immensity and being crescent shaped, it is totally ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
