Description

Commonly known as the smallest of the Scandinavian countries, Denmark occupies the Jutland peninsula which is a lowland area. The country is located in the southernmost of the Nordic countries, southwest of Sweden and south of Norway. It borders to the south by Germany and Denmark borders both the Baltic and the North Sea. The country itself covers an area of 43,075 square kilometers and boasts a population of 5,564,219 people. The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen; a city with a population of 541,559 people and has frequently been renowned as one of the cities with the best quality of life.

Weather

Denmark has a moderate climate; the leniency of which is largely conditioned by the generally westerly winds and by the fact that the country is nearly surrounded by water. July and August are the ideal period to visit Denmark, as the weather is comfortable and most of the cultural events take place in this period.

Language

Danish is the official language of Denmark and is widely spoken by six million people throughout the country. German and English, on the other hand, are the majority foreign languages that are spoken by the natives.

Currency

Denmark’s official currency is the Danish Krone. This country has a systematically modern economy which features a high-tech agricultural sector, nautical transportation and renewable energy, and a towering reliance on foreign trade. The economy of Denmark is also categorized by broad government welfare method that has a reasonable sharing of profits and secure living standards.

Tourist Attractions

Billund is a beautiful tourist destination in Denmark which is famous for its lakes and gardens. Visitors will be very pleased with the transportation system here; from public buses like Vejle Public Bus, which travels between Billund and Vejle, to limousine services, car rentals, and its Airport, the 2nd busiest airport in all of Denmark. These things will surely make any tourist feel hassle-free when visiting this beautiful country.

Another tourist destination is the Viborg. This town is famed for its cathedrals and monasteries. The Cathedral houses the paintings of Joakim Skovgaard, a Danish painter who depicts the many stories from the Bible.
