Dominica is a mountainous island of volcanic origin of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean, south of Guadeloupe and north of Martinique. The country has an area of 750 square kilometers and includes a population of 72,660 people. The capital of Dominica is Roseau; the largest city in Dominica with a population of 14,847 people.

Dominica has a tropical wet climate with a typically warm temperature and intense rainfall. Extreme heat and humidity are somewhat irritating by a stable surge of the northeast trade winds, which every so often grow into hurricanes. From the month of June to October is the principle rainy season. The best months to visit is generally from December to May since these months have the finest weather.

Trafalgar Falls is Dominica’s famed tourist attraction. These twin falls, generally recognized as the Father and Mother, has become the icon of Dominica. Visitors can reach the summit of the falls after a 20-minute hike through vanilla orchids and ginger plantations. Of the two falls, one is hot and the other is cold.
Another splendid tourist attraction is the Morne Trois Pitons National Park. Most of the Dominica’s enchanted sites such as Boeri Lake, Boiling Lake, Emerald Pool, Fresh Water Lake, Middleham Falls and Victoria Waterfall are there inside the park. Tourists visit this place to see the real beauty of nature.
