Description

The Country of Fiji is known for its abundant vegetation. It is a beautiful paradise that holds an estimated 849,000 people. Situated in the centre of the Pacific Ocean, Fiji can be located to the north of New Zealand and North West of Australia with a land area of 18,274 square kilometers The capital is Suva and it is one of the two cities in Fiji. Suva has an estimated population of 88,271 people and land area of 2,048 square kilometres.

Weather

Fiji has a hot tropical climate just right for beachside holidays. Extreme temperatures rarely reach to the heights of 26°C to 31°C all year round. Southeast winds breezes from March to November bringing dry climate and the rainy season falls from December to April. The best time to go to Fiji is probably from May to November as it is cooler, less humid and, less prone to rain and storms

Language

Fiji has three official languages; English, Bau Fijian and Hindustani. Even if the Fijian language is the main language of the natives, English is used as the major language of education, commerce and the courts. Hindustani is the least spoken language among the three.

Currency

Since 1969, Fijian dollar has been the official currency of Fiji. Fiji has one of the most developed economies of the Pacific island even though it remains a growing country with a vast subsistence agriculture sector.

Tourist Attractions

A compilation of more than 30 islets, Mamanuca Islands is sited off the Nadi coast. This place has incredible breezy palm trees, breath-taking coral reefs, blue waters and sandy beaches. Some of these islands are still untouched whereas some serve as a residence to the natives of Fiji.
