Description

Honduras is a lively country; overflowing with clear waters, well-preserved beaches, abundant jungles, overwhelming mountains and mesmerizing ancient ruins. The country of Honduras lies in the north central part of Central America. It is the 2nd largest country in Central America that has an estimated population of 8,249,574 people and land area of 112,492 square kilometers. The capital of Honduras is Tegucigalpa; a city with a land area of 201.5 square kilometres and holds a population of 1,126,534 inhabitants.

Weather

Honduras has a tropical climate with cooler and more pleasant conditions in the mountains. The north coast is extremely humid, and even though rain falls throughout the year, the sun is exceptionally tough. The dry season is from November to April and the wet season runs from May to October. The perfect time to visit Honduras is in May or early June for favourable weather and fewer crowds.

Language

Spanish is the official language in Honduras which is spoken all over the country and taught in schools. English, on the other hand, is also broadly used particularly in northern

Currency

Honduras’ official currency is the Honduran lempira. Honduras is known to be the 2nd poorest country in Central America. This country suffers from extremely uneven sharing of profits, in addition to high underemployment.

Tourist Attractions

Bay Islands is considered to be a major tourist attraction and it is located 50 kilometres off the Caribbean coast of Honduras. This is composed of three major islands and several islets.

Gumbalimba Park is a delightful place that is found in Roatan. This place has everything that anyone could possibly want like; Zip lines, a nature walk, monkeys, parrots, wonderful staff, and a beach which makes it an all-inclusive spot to enjoy.
