Description

The State of Idaho is located on the Northwestern part of the United States. The capital city of Idaho is Boise which is also the largest city. Idaho is a mountainous State and is among the largest States of US by land area. Idaho is landlocked and the surrounding States are Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and the Canadian province belonging to British Columbia. Idaho has a population of about 1.5 million people and covers an area of about 216, 632 square kilometers

Weather

Idaho’s climate is distinct and is mostly influenced by weather patterns off Pacific Oceans. Normally the northern parts of Idaho receive a lot of precipitation than the southern parts. Southern Idaho has much warmer summer temperatures than the northern. Because of the mountains, Idaho experiences greater accumulation of snow. High seasons for tourists are May to September and November to mid-March. Fall is also a nice time to visit Idaho because there are less people around and the weather is mild.

Language

The official language used in Idaho is English. Most of Idaho’s population claims that English is their mother tongue and therefore speak it well. Nevertheless, other indigenous languages are used by the immigrants who have settled in Idaho.

Currency

As a member State of the United States, Idaho uses the dollar currency. There are several national banks in Idaho which will be able to issue you with the national currency should you need to convert your money.

Tourist Attractions

Idaho is famous for potatoes. However, the mountains of coniferous pines are what most people come to see, snow sports enthusiasts and skiers enjoying them more than most people.

Even though Idaho has never been overcrowded, holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day and President’s Day have been known to attract a considerable number of tourists.
