A State in the U.S, Indiana is located in the Great Lakes region, along Midwestern United States. It is a small State that holds about 7 million people and is about 94, 321 kilometers squared. Indiana’s capital city is Indianapolis which is also its largest city and the second largest of all State capitals. Indiana is a cosmopolitan State with several areas that have large populations and a number of industrial towns and cities. Also, Indianapolis is home to some major athletic teams and events such as NBA’s Indiana Pacers and many more.

Indiana’s climate is humid continental with cool winters and warm wet summers. However, because the southern areas have humid subtropical climate, they receive more precipitation than other areas in Indiana. Temperatures generally differ from the North to South during winter but remain the same in summer. Indiana is also prone to tornadoes.

While the official language in Indiana is English, other English dialects and languages such as German, and Spanish are in use too. Indiana’s demographics indicate that German has the largest ancestry among the population with African American, Hispanics and Latino following.
