Description

Ireland is the 3rd largest country in Europe and the 12th largest island in the world. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean and separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea. The country has an area of 84,421 square kilometers and a population of 6,197,100 inhabitants. The capital of Ireland is Dublin; a city with a population of 525,383 people and an area of 114.99 square kilometers.

Weather

The type of weather of Ireland can be depicted as a maritime influenced, gentle and moist climate. From May all the way through September are by far the warmest and normally the dryer time of year. The tourist season in Ireland usually runs from Easter to the October. On the months of July and August, however, are the traditional holiday months in Ireland and resorts are jam-packed and noisy which is a time best avoided if possible.

Language

Ireland has 2 official languages: Irish which referred to as the majority language of Ireland and English. Around 30% of the population are able to speak Irish, and 5% use it regularly. On the other hand, English is roughly the dominant language that is used in social, economic and cultural contexts.

Currency

Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland have dissimilar currencies. Euro is used as the currency of Republic of Ireland while the Northern Ireland’s currency is the Pound Sterling. Ireland boasts a vibrant, globalized nation which started out from an agricultural focus to a modern economy, concentrating on high-tech industries and reliant on business, production and investments.

Tourist Attractions

The Cliffs of Moher is located on the west coast of Claire, just north of Lahinch. Visitors can stand on top of Europe’s highest cliffs while watching the majestic scenery of the open Atlantic deep below.

Blarney Castle is located in County Cork and is known as one of Ireland’s oldest and most remarkable castles. The castle is a partial ruin with some battlements and accessible rooms.
