Kansas

Description

Kansas is a State in the U.S located around the Midwestern region named after the river that flows through it; Kansas River. Currently, Kansas is among the most productive States in U.S producing high yields of sorghum, wheat and sunflowers. The capital city of Kansas is Topeka while the largest city is Wichita. Kansas covers an area of about 213, 096 kilometres squared with a population of about 3 million residents.

Weather

The climate in Kansas is highly changeable and contains three climatic types; semi-arid steppe, humid continental and humid subtropical. Different areas in Kansas experience varied weather changes. Nevertheless, some aspects of the three climates can be experienced in most areas of the State with changeable weather and droughts once in a while. Kansas is also susceptible to thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Language

The official language used in Kansas is English. However due to ancestry groups which are responsible for a large percentage of the population, a few other languages may be in use such as German, French and several others.

Currency

As a State of the U.S, the official currency used in Kansas is the dollar. The economy in Kansas does fairly well with most of the income attributed to agricultural outputs of both plants and animals. Other industrial outputs are mining and petroleum, transportation equipment and many others.

Tourist Attractions

Kansas has various tourist attractions starting with a thrilling tour of the underground Salt Museum where salt is mined.
