Also known as the Commonwealth of Kentucky, this State is located on the Eastern central region of the U.S. Kentucky is among four other States which have been constituted as commonwealth, the others being Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Kentucky is also known as the Bluegrass State because of the presence of bluegrass in many pastures within the State. Consequently, the quality of livestock in Kentucky is high. Kentucky covers an area of 104,659 kilometres squared with a population of about 4.5 million people. Its capital city is Frankfort, the largest city being Louisville.
