Maine is a U.S State that is located on the North East in the New England region. It is borders New Hampshire to the west, Atlantic Ocean to the east and South, New Brunswick to the North east while to the northwest the Canadian provinces. Main is also known as the Pine tree State because most of its land has forests. Among all U.S States, Maine is the least populated with about 1.5 million residents. It covers an area of about 91, 646 kilometers squared.

Maine enjoys an invigorating climate with moderate temperatures and humid summers. Winters are snowy and cold all over the State but can be severe in the northern areas of Maine. Maine is safe from tropical storms and hurricanes but has occasional thunderstorms.

Maine does not have an official language though majority of its residents speak English followed by French, Irish, German and the others. However, Maine has a big number of French speaking folks than another State within the U.S.

Maine uses the dollar currency and finding a currency exchange is easy as most banks and hotels will be able to cater to you. Maine’s economy has improved overall and this is credited to agricultural outputs, wood products and fishing among many others.
