Monaco, officially known as Principality of Monaco is a City State located on the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera). Monaco is bordered on three sides by France; its center is about 16 kilometers from Italy. The City State covers an area of 2.05 square kilometers and has a population of 35,986 million people. Though it is the most densely populated country in the world, Monaco has the world’s highest life expectancy at almost 90 years and the lowest unemployment rate. It is the world’s second smallest country after Vatican City. Monaco’s government seats in Monaco-Ville.

Monaco’s climate is typically Mediterranean, with long hot summers and mild winters. The best months to visit Monaco are April to May and September and October. June to August can be very hot and crowded. To catch Formula One races, visit in January and May.

Monaco’s official language is French. English and Italian are also widely spoken. Many inhabitants speak the Monégasque, a language whose origin is Genoese dialect of Italian and Southern France’s Provençal language.
