Nevada is a landlocked state in the U.S. It has covers an area of 286, 350 kilometers squared with a population of about 2.8 million. Nevada’s capital city is Carson, Las Vegas being the largest city. A large percentage of Nevada’s land is owned by the government under some jurisdictions both military and civilian. Nevada is also known as the Silver State because of its history with the mining of Silver on the economy.

Nevada is largely semi-arid and desert as much of it is situated on the Great Basin. As expected during the daytime in deserts, the temperatures are very high while at night they become extremely low. Winters are short and mild and rainfall, scarce.
