Nevada

Nevada is a landlocked state in the U.S. It has covers an area of 286, 350 kilometers squared with a population of about 2.8 million. Nevada’s capital city is Carson, Las Vegas being the largest city. A large percentage of Nevada’s land is owned by the government under some jurisdictions both military and civilian. Nevada is also known as the Silver State because of its history with the mining of Silver on the economy.

Nevada is largely semi-arid and desert as much of it is situated on the Great Basin. As expected during the daytime in deserts, the temperatures are very high while at night they become extremely low. Winters are short and mild and rainfall, scarce.

While Nevada does not have an official language, most people speak English and Spanish. Assuming that Nevada is a busy tourist town, you may find different languages being used in the state.

Nevada uses the dollar currency. There, ATMs are widespread. Credit cards and travelers checks are widely accepted and currency change can be done in most banks and hotels.

The formation of legalized gambling and lenient divorce and marriage proceedings in the recent past has transformed Nevada into a famous tourist destination. Just about anybody can get married and divorce there as the laws are quite lenient, a thing that has attracted a lot of people.
