New York

Description

New York is a U.S. state which is located on northeastern region of the country. It is among the most populous states. New York borders Pennsylvania and New Jersey to the South and by Massachusetts, Connecticut to the east. The State is usually distinguished from New York City by ensuring that the word “state” does not miss. It is also referred to as the Empire State and its capital is known as Albany City. The largest city in New York State is known as New York City. New York State covers an area of 141,300 kilometers squared and has a population of about 20 million people.

Weather

Generally, New York State has humid continental climate while New York City experiences humid subtropical climate. The winters are usually cold and long and their temperatures are lower especially in the northern highlands region. The summer season is cool and the temperatures usually vary from one area to another.

Language

While New York State has no official language, the majority of its residents use English to communicate. However, New York States is a gateway for immigration and for this reason; other languages such as Spanish, German, French and other indigenous languages may be in use.

Currency

New York State uses the dollar currency. Its economy does quite well and if it were to independently become a country, it would rank among the top 20 nations that have large economies. Industrial outputs include livestock, dairy products, machinery, and tourism among many others. Currency conversion is available in major hotels and banks.
