New Zealand is an island located in the south-western Pacific Ocean. The country is divided into two main landmasses, the North Island and the South Island, and also into various smaller islands. The country borders Tasmania Sea to the West and Pacific island nations of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga to the North. One of the last lands to be settled by human beings, the country covers a land area of 268,021 square kilometers and has a population of over 4.3 million people. New Zealand’s capital is Wellington, a city with a population of over 397,000 people.
