North Carolina is a U.S. state which is located on the Southern region of the country. The State borders Georgia and South Carolina to the South, Tennessee to its west and Virginia to the North. North Carolina’s capital is known as Raleigh city while its largest city is Charlotte. North Carolina covers an area of 139, 581 kilometers squared and has a population of about 9,535, 483 residents. Recent census figures indicate that North Carolina is among the fastest growing states in terms of its population.

Weather

Due to its terrain, North Carolina has subtropical highland climate and humid subtropical climate. The winters are generally mild and short while the summers are commonly sultry while fall and spring are distinct and cool periods of transition. The state is susceptible to getting hurricanes and tornadoes.

Language

While North Carolina does not have an official language, most of its residents use English and other languages such as Spanish and German. The state has been receiving considerable immigration from Asia, India and Latin America.

Currency

North Carolina uses the dollar currency. With time the state has undergone a transformation from relying on furniture and tobacco and is now involved in a more diversified economy which now deals with biotechnology, finance and engineering.
