Description

Oklahoma is a U.S. state which is located on the South Central Region of the U.S. It has a population of about 3.8 million residents and covers an area of 177,847 kilometres squared. It is also known by its nickname as “The Sooner State.” The state’s largest city is Oklahoma City which is also its capital city. Oklahoma borders Missouri and Arkansas to the east, Kansas and Colorado to the north and North West respectively and Texas to the south.

Weather

Oklahoma City has a large number of tourists during the summer season and early fall. However, it is usually very hot and ideally, the best time to travel there would be in early fall. The state experiences tornadoes during spring but the weather is conducive enough to carry out other activities both out and indoors.

Language

The official language being used in Oklahoma is English. A large percent of the population speak English. However, due to ancestry groups and immigration, a few people speak German and Irish among other indigenous languages.

Currency

As a member state of the U.S. Oklahoma uses the dollar currency. It produces oil, natural gas and agriculture and also relies on aviation, telecommunications, energy and biotechnology. Currency exchange is available in some hotels and major banks.

Tourist Attractions

As cooler weathers like spring rolls in, the football season in Oklahoma commences. This would be a nice time for football lovers to land on the area.

Aside from sports, there are several lakes and rivers that you can enjoy fishing and swimming from. There are many other attractions in Oklahoma which will guarantee you some fun while on vacation.
