The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is a U.S. state which is located on the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern areas of the Country. Pennsylvania borders Maryland and Delaware to the South, Ohio to the west, West Virginia to the southwest, Ontario, Canada and New York to the North and to the east; New Jersey. The States’ capital is Harrisburg city while Philadelphia its largest city. Pennsylvania has a population of about 13 million residents and covers an area of 119, 283 kilometers squared.

Pennsylvania has a variety of climates; humid continental and humid subtropical climate. The climate generally becomes colder moving towards the mountains. Cloudy days increase while the snow falls greatly. The State gets a couple of tornadoes yearly.

Pennsylvania does not have a defined official language. However languages such as Spanish and Pennsylvania Dutch are in use due to ancestral groups and subsequent immigration into the state over time.

Like all U.S. states, Pennsylvania uses the dollar currency. The state’s economy does quite well and it is highly ranked. Were it an independent country, it would rank among the top 20 largest economies. Subsequently, foreign exchange can be carried out in most banks and hotels.
