Description

Poland is a country located in Central Europe. Poland neighbours Germany to the West, Czech Republic and Slovakia to the South, Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania to the East and the Baltic Sea and Russia’s exclave, Kaliningrad Oblast to the North. Poland is currently the holder of European Union’s Presidency. The country has a total land area of 312,685 square kilometers; it is the 9th largest European country. The country has a population of over 38 million people. Poland’s capital is Warsaw, a city with a population of over 2.6 million people.

Weather

Poland’s climate is generally temperate throughout the country. The best months to visit are mid-May to June or September to mid-October.

Language

Polish is the official language in Poland. The language is spoken by 96.7% of the country’s population.

Currency

Poland’s official currency is Złoty (PLN). As a member of EU, the country also uses the Euro Currency. Poland has a strong high income that is one of the healthiest of post-Communist countries. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the EU.
