Description

Located in West Indies, the Turks and Caicos Islands are made up of two groups of tropical islands, the larger Caicos Islands and the smaller Turks Islands. Turks and Caicos Islands neighbour Mayaguana, Bahamas to the southeast and the island of Hispaniola to the north. Turks and Caicos Islands cover a land area of 430 square kilometers with a population of over 44,000 people. Turks and Caicos Islands’ capital is Cockburn Town with a population of 3,700 people

Turks and Caicos Islands generally have a tropical monsoon climate. The best months to visit are mid December to mid April.

Tourist Attractions

Turks and Caicos Islands have a unique blend of attractive sites that range from marine life to caves and historic sites. An enjoyable sight of North Atlantic Humpback Whales around the islands of Grand Turk and Salt Cay during their annual migration for mating and birth is a must for tourists visiting these Islands. The JoJo, a unique Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin that has been living and playing in the shallow waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands in the West Indies since 1980’s is another gem that makes a visit to the Island unique. Also visit the Cheshire Hall, the 200 year-old ruins and one of the Islands’ key historic attractions. The Grand Turk Cruise Center, with direct beachfront access, is a first-class facility nestled among nearly 14 acres of landscaped grounds. With convenient changing rooms, showers and lockers for cruise line guests, cruise center visitors also can swim either in the oceanâs sparkling waters or in one of the largest pools in the Caribbean, stroll along the idyllic beach, relax in a chaise lounge or covered beach chair, and even rent a private cabana for the day and enjoy a massage.
