The United States of America, also known as the United States, the U.S., the USA, or America, is a country is located mostly in central North America. The country neighbours Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The country lies between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The US covers a land area of 9.83 million square kilometres and has a population of over 308 million people and is one of the most ethnically diverse and multicultural countries in the world.  The US is the world’s third largest country by both by land area and population.

US climate varies from humid continental in the north to humid subtropical in the south and semi arid in the Great Plains. Areas around Rocky Mountains are alpine, arid climate in the Great Basin, Mediterranean in coastal California and oceanic in coastal Oregon and Washington. Best time to visit the US is generally mid June to August. East Coast, June and September are good months; West Coast mid-September to mid-October and May to early June.

The US has no official language at federal level, the National language is English.

US official currency is the US Dollar (USD). The U.S. economy is the world’s largest national economy.
