Venezuela, officially called the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is a country located on the northern coast of South America. Venezuela neighbors Colombia to the west, Guyana to the east, and Brazil to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north east. Venezuela covers a land area of   916,445 square kilometers. Venezuela has an estimated population of over 29 million people. Venezuela’s capital is Caracas, a city with a population of over 1.8 million people.

Venezuela’s climate is generally tropical.  The best month to visit is December to April.

The official language in Venezuela is Spanish.

Venezuela’s official currency is the Bolívar fuerte (VEF). The country has a mixed economy dominated by the petroleum sector.

Venezuela is a diverse country that offers beautiful landscapes and diverse flora and fauna.  Home to the world’s highest waterfall, the country is endowed with stunning natural beauty.  A visit to Canaima National Park, the largest national park and home to La Gran Sabana is a must. The view of these breathtaking unusual flat top mountains “Tepuy” is spectacular.  While in Canaima National Park, experience the sight of the spectacular Angel Falls, the highest falls in the world that are a World Heritage Site.
