Wisconsin

Wisconsin is a State in the United States and it contains 72 counties. Wisconsin borders Minnesota in the west, Illinois in the south, Lake Michigan in the east and Iowa in the southwest. Wisconsin’s largest city is Milwaukee and its capital is Madison. This state has more than 5.6 million residents.

Wisconsin has a very humid climate; with temperatures that can vary tremendously. The popular months for tourists are June to October, and December to February. Summers are rather clear and temperatures will average at 67 degrees. Some winters might experience snowfalls and accumulation can add up to 45 inches per season.

Wisconsin’s official language is English. The most prominent ancestries in Wisconsin include Irish, German, Norwegian and Italian. The largest concentration of Germans can be found in Milwaukee.

The official currency of Wisconsin is the United States Dollar. The economy of the State of Wisconsin is primarily driven by agriculture, health care and manufacturing; and Wisconsin is often seen as a farming state. Wisconsin has a fairly low unemployment rate and the largest employer in this state is Wal-Mart.

Wisconsin offers a variety of tourist attractions. There are amusement parks like the Bay Beach Amusement Park; a location that offers fun for the whole family and tickets start at only 25 cents. You can also visit one of their festivals, such as the Holland Festival; where you will find Klompen dancing, bus tours and ethnic food tastings.

For tourists that like the outdoors, Wisconsin offers diving courses and you can even visit shipwrecks on your expedition.  The Wisconsin’s Maritime Trains program aims to preserve their archaeological locations and offers the visitor much more than just a trip back to memory lane.
